dal 05 marzo al 19 luglio 2026 Il Museo del Genio ospita una straordinaria retrospettiva dedicata a Robert Doisneau, il maestro che ha trasformato la fotografia in memoria, emozione e poesia visiva. Con oltre 140 scatti iconici, la mostra accompagna il pubblico nel cuore della vita quotidiana parigina, rendendo omaggio a uno dei più grandi protagonisti del Novecento.
Nato a Gentilly nel 1912, Doisneau è stato l'esponente di punta della fotografia umanista francese. Attraverso il suo inconfondibile bianco e nero, ha raccontato con ironia e delicatezza l'umanità delle strade: operai, bistrot e bambini che giocano diventano frammenti sospesi nel tempo. Protagonista assoluta è la celebre Le Baiser de l’Hôtel de Ville (1950), immagine simbolo dell'amore universale e della Parigi romantica. Accanto a questo capolavoro, il percorso espositivo presenta opere memorabili come Un chien à roulettes e La concierge aux lunettes, tasselli di un racconto visivo che spazia dagli anni Trenta alla maturità dell'artista.
Non mancano i ritratti di grandi personalità — da Picasso e Giacometti a Brigitte Bardot — colte sempre con lo stesso sguardo autentico e privo di retorica. Prodotta da Arthemisia, la mostra celebra due ricorrenze simboliche: il bicentenario della nascita della fotografia (1826-2026) e il 70° anniversario del gemellaggio tra Roma e Parigi, confermando il legame indissolubile tra le due capitali della cultura.

The Museo del Genio hosts a remarkable retrospective dedicated to Robert Doisneau, the master who transformed photography into memory, emotion, and visual poetry. Featuring over 140 iconic prints, the exhibition leads the public into the heart of daily life in Paris, paying tribute to one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century.
Born in Gentilly in 1912, Doisneau was a leading figure of French Humanist photography. Through his unmistakable black-and-white style, he captured the humanity of the streets with irony and tenderness: workers, bistros, and playing children become fragments of time suspended forever. The centerpiece of the exhibition is the world-famous Le Baiser de l’Hôtel de Ville (1950), an enduring symbol of universal love and romantic Paris. Alongside this masterpiece, the itinerary showcases memorable works such as Un chien à roulettes and La concierge aux lunettes, tracing a visual journey from the 1930s to the artist’s full maturity.
The exhibition also includes portraits of great cultural icons—from Picasso and Giacometti to Brigitte Bardot—all captured with the same authentic, unpretentious gaze.
